Some background.

I'd like to preface this post by letting bare all of my biases at the door. I am a really big fan of boa. really, Really big fan. Have been even before "Duvet" blew up in the tiktoksphere circa a couple years ago. I've also been following this album really really closely since its announcement back in December of 2023, so needless to say I am Quite A Bit Excited For This Thing's Release.

For some, this type of bias is a little bit of a dealbreaker when it comes to a "review" (if i can even call it that). Just this once, however, I do ask to at least give this post at least a little bit of a shot. Even though I liked a lot of things this album does right, there's a ton that it also missed the mark on.

Is what you're probably asking yourself. Don't worry, we'll get there. Just a bit of background on boa as a band, they're a UK-based alt-rock band formed around 1993. They gained some initial popularity with their release of Twilight in 2001, then subsequently released Get There in 2005 while riding the success of *Twilight.

Then, there was silence. For about 20ish years. The band usually got together sometimes to do some charity events, but there was absolutely no news on any new music whatsoever. That is, until Tiktok absolutely blew up Duvet to astronomical levels. There was actually demand for more boa in the west! Using this extra wave of popularity, the band
